Why do we eat food?

As I mentioned previously, Rory's class is learning about food. And he is absorbing every morsel of knowledge, as evidenced by the repetition at home of what they talk about at circle time.

Case in point is the concept of 'sometime' vs. 'anytime' foods and learning to distinguish between the two of them. 'Anytime' foods are those which are good for us; 'sometime' foods seem to be defined as those that contain sugar. Rory now asks about the sugar content of foods, and makes a game of it:
Does juice have sugar in it? What about strawberries?
Well, yes, they do have sugar in them, but it's a good kind...

Why do we eat food? The correct answer to this week's poll was:
It's good for your body.
