Week of the young child

Last week was Week of the Young Child at preschool, which means lots of themes, fun and games, building to a crescendo for the Trike-a-thon and jumphouse at the end of the week. 

Rory informed us that, in addition to a big-boy bike and a micro racer, he wants a jumphouse for his birthday. As that's still 6 months away, the boy is clearly thinking ahead, but it may also be due to the fact that Skylar's birthday party is tomorrow and we've been talking about that and what present Rory would like to give him.

We are back watching Backyardigans again after a hiatus watching Toot & Puddle, which we still watch pretty regularly. I personally love the grooves and tunes - such a clever bunch! - even if we're not sure what kind of animal is Uniqua (my guess is an ant?). So, here is a little ditty to put some groove in your day... we've been rocking out to this number (featuring Alicia Keys as the Martian mommy) for the past couple of days.
