Every time I walk into Myer's class, I am blown away by the artwork. Angela, Lulu and Olga are amazing! One wall is decorated with sea creatures - a big gray whale, green sea turtles made from paper plates, and aluminum foil fish.From the May newsletter:
The theme for May will be "The Five Senses". We will work on body part recognition in English and Spanish as well as have many fun sensory and art activities. We are always looking for new sensory activities... The children have recently enjoyed beans, spaghetti noodles, and bird seed.
May also included a Mother's Day brunch and ice cream social. I think Myer had ice cream before this, but maybe just once. He loved it, of course!

June also saw a Father's Day breakfast (both classes, same as Mother's Day).May was an upbeat and exciting month... We enjoyed the beautiful weather and art activities such as crayon and marker drawing and collage making outside. Inside, we did bubble wrap art, bird and bee making, letter painting, fingerprint art, painting with q-tips, stickers and tape art, and of course, a lot of fingerpainting! We used our sense of touch when playing with playdough, foam dough, birdseed, and sand and water.The theme for June will be "The Ocean". We will talk about the plants and animals and live in the ocean and will use many blues and greens in our art projects. We also hope to put together our own "ocean" in sensory tubs for the children to explore... The weather is expected to warm up, so we look forward to organizing many water play activities, including ice-cube exploration, baby-washing, foam letter exploration, boat play and more.
