Trike-a-thon!

We had a blast watching the kids do laps around the school courtyard this morning in support of St. Jude's Hospital. Every classroom had a chance to ride with 30 minutes each to make as many laps as possible - the more laps they make the more money they raise for the charity. Even Myer and the other Jellies participated; they strapped them in to the buggies and wheeled them around later in the day.

Matt was concerned that Rory's fold 'n go Radio Flyer is now too small, so he went to Target after dropping the kids off this morning to find a bigger trike and came back with the classic red dual deck model with bell (below left). However, being new it did not have the benefit of the all important road test beforehand; when it came time for Rory to ride, we discovered the handle bars were loose and in need of tightening. Needless to say, Rory ended up riding his fold 'n go for most of his 18 laps (below right). He raised $36!

Tomorrow is western theme day, and there will be a Jumphouse and a visit from the policemen to talk about safety. Thursday is my day to talk about sea animals; I did this last year and it was a big hit apparently. More on this in the next post!
