We are enjoying the beautiful weather this holiday weekend courtesy of Earl, saw nary a drop of rain but lovely temperatures in the 70s. We've had the windows open (!) all weekend.
We spent yesterday with our good friends the CRATE family (Carolyn, Ryan, Aya, Tupper and Emi), enjoying the sunshine, their community garden and general good company; however, there is no photographic evidence to share, something that must be remedied at successive meetings. Aya and Rory picked up where they left off, playing so beautifully together. Myer just kinda does his own thing, sometimes joining in, sometimes worrying about Emi taking the toy he's playing with and sometimes messing around on his own.
Today we went to a park off Beech Drive, having discovered that our first choice, Audubon's Woodend Nature Sanctuary, was closed for a private event. So after the park, we went to Locust Grove Nature Center that is right by our house. We missed the center closing by a scant 5 minutes but there was still lots to do and see along the creek trail - the boys could spend an entire day, I think, throwing rocks into the water. We saw a deer on the way down the trail, and then Myer spotted two young bucks on our way back up; seeing deer is only marginally exciting, however, since we saw them all the time in Monterey and now we see them a lot off the back of our house, which is wooded. But, they are a different species here.

Turn up the volume otherwise you won't hear what he's saying over the crickets and birds - he is singing about not catching up to Mommy and Daddy and his brother, who are going back to the house. :)
